“Sikh by Choice.” What does it mean? Who does it refer to? A Sikh by Choice comes to Sikhi through the teachings of Guru Sahib touching our own hearts. It doesn’t mean we come from any one specific community or have a specific color skin. It doesn’t mean we speak a certain language or do a particular type of exercise. It just means that we made a choice, a personal decision, to follow Guru Sahib to the best of our ability. Regardless of where our worldly parents are in their lives, we accept Guru Gobind Singh Sahib and Mata Sahib Kaur jee as our parents. No matter where we’re born on this earth, we know Anandpur Sahib is our true home. We come from every walk of life, but we share one love for Guru Sahib.
